The Power of Prayer
A story is told in the Bible of how Jesus during a sermon fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish. There are people who have been in difficult situations of life and death and at that time not knowing what to do said a quick silent prayer and the danger that was imminent completely goes away. That is The Power of Prayer. In the Bible, we are told of how Daniel who has been thrown into a den of lions by the ruler because of his daily prayer routine. Daniel came out of the den unscathed. Also the story of Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego were thrown into a furnace because of their faith. In all these situations, The Power of Prayer is clear in that it gets our petitions answered by God and gets us out of some of the dangerous situations we are in.
The most integral part of prayer is faith. There are numerous stories in the Bible where Jesus healed the sick and emphasized on the importance of faith when we present our petitions to God. Therefore in order for us to enjoy The Power of Prayer, we should have unwavering faith in God that our prayers would be answered.
Also to experience The Power of Prayer, it is essential that when we decide to pray for God to answer some of the needs that we may have in our lives to conduct a fast. Fasting during prayer connects us to God on a spiritual level and shows our total commitment to him in prayer. Through this we are able to find comfort in The Power of Prayer through the results we get.
The Bible emphasizes that to get the full power of prayer it is important to come together in prayer. Praying together with people releases the full power of prayer in our midst as it connects us to God.
Lastly, it is necessary that one prays without giving up. There are instances where one would pray and his or her prayers aren’t immediately answered. Due to this the ailing person feels neglected by God and gets impatient with prayers and stops praying altogether. However, the Bible advices on praying without getting tired. The Lord at times puts our requests on hold to test the strength of our faith in him.
In summation, when we are facing a difficult time IN our lives or are happy about something and thanking God in prayer we are able to receive more in abundance.
